Without fail, whenever a client tells me that they’re experiencing lower back pain, I double-check the duration of their appointment. If it’s 75 minutes, I breathe a sigh of relief. If it’s only 50 minutes, I grit my teeth. Here’s why.
Lower back pain usually feels like it’s stemming from the lower back, but I know the culprit could be elsewhere. It’s a real trickster.
The best way I can compare it is like a shot fired from a gun. The damage is wherever the bullet hit, but it started from the gun.
To illustrate, the cause of lower back pain may actually be coming from:
- Gluteal muscles (the glutes)
- Hamstrings
- Iliotibial band (IT band)
- Hips

Sure, in a 50 minute session, I’ll address them anyway, but to root out your discomfort with extra focus and attention, I need a little extra time.
As a massage therapist, I’ll address all those muscles with massage and stretching. This takes time to assess and incorporate into a full body massage, so that’s why I recommend 75 minutes.
With your 75 minute session, you also get to select two customization options.
You may want the added benefit of heat therapy from warmed stones combined with an application of Biofreeze.
Alternatively, CBD oil relieves chronic inflammation.
Of course, you could maximize your results and get that third customization option for only $20 more.
If it’s your first visit, you save $20.
(Yes, that means if your first visit is a 75-minute Swedish or Deep Tissue, you’ll get that third add-on for free.)
